Domain Registration?

domain registration
Rajiv asked:

I have registered a domain name with Yahoo but want to launch the website with another provider. Is it possible to do that? Moreover, I want to buy some other domain names at cheaper prices from NetFirms. How is the company? Will there be any problem or extra charges if I buy webspace from other firms. Please help as I am a novice in these things.

You can definately choose your hosting with another provider. You would have to go into your Yahoo domain control panel and set the nameservers to the ones provided by the company you are choosing your hosting with. An example of a name server is NS1.NAMESERVER.NET. All hosting should come with two nameservers.

There should not be any extra charges except their price for hosting. I haven’t used NetFirms myself, so can’t give an opinion on that company.

I do use Domains at Retail ( ) for cheap domain name registration. They also have pretty good hosting packages. All depends what you are looking for.

With them if you only want to host one site, you get the economy hosting for pretty cheap, but if you plan to host more than one site their Deluxe plan lets you do that. Take a look at their packages:
And if you buy their hosting you can get domain names for $1.99.

Good luck with whoever you choose to go with.
